2025Big Flame “Factfolder” illustrations to accompany the Working Class Movement Library’s exhibition on Big Flame.
Big Flame was a libertarian socialist group active in the 1970s and 80s. It attracted members from a range of traditions, including autonomist Marxism and anarchist-communism. They were particularly notable in their attempts to “synthesise the concerns of the Women’s liberation movement, with a commitment to ‘rank-and-file’ workplace and community organisation and a rejection of Leninist vanguardism, which put them at odds with much of Britain’s extra-parliamentary opposition during the 1970s.”
You can read the entire fact folder on the Working Class Movement Library website. You can also get a free fact-folder from the exhibition at the Working Class Movement Library, while stocks last!
